Terms of Service

1. Overview

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the provision of services by MAS Systems (“we”, “us”, “our”) to customers (“you”, “your”).

By requesting a quotation, booking work, or instructing us to proceed with services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

These Terms apply to all domestic, commercial and renewable energy services provided by MAS Systems.

2. About Us

MAS Systems is an electrical contracting company providing installation, maintenance, testing and renewable energy services across London and the South East.

All work is carried out by qualified engineers in accordance with applicable UK regulations and industry standards.

3. Quotations & Pricing

  • All quotations are valid for a limited period as stated on the quotation (or 30 days if not specified).
  • Quotations are based on the information provided and may be subject to revision if site conditions differ from those described.
  • Any additional work requested or required outside the original scope will be quoted separately.
  • Prices may change due to material costs, specification changes, or unforeseen site conditions.

4. Site Surveys

Where required, a site survey may be carried out prior to confirming a final quotation.

Site surveys are based on visible and accessible areas at the time of inspection. Hidden defects or inaccessible systems may require additional work once identified.

5. Booking & Scheduling

  • Work is scheduled upon acceptance of a quotation and, where required, receipt of a deposit.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed dates but cannot guarantee fixed start or completion times in all cases.
  • Delays caused by third parties, site access issues, or unforeseen circumstances are outside our control.

6. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the site
  • Ensure areas of work are clear and accessible
  • Provide accurate information about existing systems
  • Inform us of any known hazards or restrictions
  • Obtain any necessary permissions or landlord approvals where applicable

Delays or additional costs arising from failure to meet these responsibilities may be chargeable.

7. Variations & Additional Work

If additional work is required during a project:

  • We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible
  • Work will only proceed with your approval (where practical)
  • Additional costs will be agreed before work continues

In emergency or safety-critical situations, we may proceed with necessary work to ensure safety and compliance.

8. Payments

  • Payment terms will be stated on your invoice or quotation
  • Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are due upon completion of work
  • Deposits may be required for larger projects or materials
  • Late payments may incur statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998

We reserve the right to suspend or withhold services where payments are overdue.

9. Cancellations

  • Cancellations should be made as soon as possible
  • Costs incurred for materials, labour or preparation work may be chargeable
  • For scheduled works, late cancellations may incur a cancellation fee

10. Materials & Equipment

  • All materials supplied remain the property of MAS Systems until full payment is received
  • We reserve the right to use equivalent materials where specified items are unavailable
  • Manufacturer warranties apply where provided by suppliers

11. Compliance & Certification

All electrical work is carried out in accordance with relevant UK regulations and standards, including applicable Wiring Regulations and building safety requirements.

Where applicable, certification will be issued upon completion of works and full payment.

Certification may be withheld until payment is received in full.

12. Warranty & Workmanship

We provide a workmanship warranty on installations for a period specified at the time of quotation (or 12 months if not stated).

This warranty does not cover:

  • Misuse or alteration by third parties
  • Existing faults or pre-installed systems not worked on by us
  • Wear and tear or external damage
  • Manufacturer defects in supplied equipment

Manufacturer warranties apply separately where applicable.

13. Access Equipment & Safety

Where work requires specialist access equipment (e.g. scaffolding, MEWPs), this will be discussed and agreed prior to commencement.

We reserve the right to suspend work if site conditions are deemed unsafe.

14. Limitation of Liability

We will not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss
  • Loss of business, revenue or profit
  • Delays caused by third parties or circumstances beyond our control
  • Existing faults or hidden defects not reasonably identifiable prior to work

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

15. Ownership & Risk

Risk in completed work passes to you upon completion. Ownership of materials remains with MAS Systems until full payment has been received.

16. Subcontractors

We may use qualified subcontractors to carry out certain works where appropriate. All subcontractors are required to meet the same standards of quality, safety and compliance.

17. Data Protection

We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the processing of your data for the purpose of delivering our services.

18. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, supply chain disruption, industrial action, or regulatory changes.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
